City of Ada Announces Hiring of New Community Action Coordinator
(Ada, OKLAHOMA/September 18, 2025) ? The City of Ada is pleased to announce the hiring of Carl Allen as the new Community Action Coordinator. Mr. Allen brings decades of public service experience and a deep understanding of Ada?s needs to this critical position.
Allen served for many years as a police officer with the Ada Police Department, later becoming Public Works Director, and ultimately serving as Chief of Police. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in advancing public safety initiatives, overseeing major infrastructure projects, and strengthening partnerships across the community. His proven track record in city operations and dedication to the well-being of Ada residents make him uniquely qualified for this new role.
In his position as Community Action Coordinator, Allen will lead and implement programs and safety initiatives addressing addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges through strategic diversion, community engagement, and inter-agency coordination. He will be responsible for developing and operating a municipal diversion court program aligned with the opioid remediation mandates outlined in the Distributor Oklahoma Settlement Agreement. Additionally, Allen will deliver proactive field services in support of trauma-informed policing and recovery-based diversion efforts.
