The City of Ada is accepting applications for the position of Code Enforcement Assistant. To perform code enforcement duties within the Community Development division and to perform and assist with a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. The CAG-D will work collaboratively with local, state, federal and tribal government officials, businesses, non-profits, and community members to create and implement strategic plans that promote a thriving and resilient community.

Bachelor's degree REQUIRED. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in relationship building and development, urban planning, economic development, or a related field. Strong understanding of current economic development practices and strategies. Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing community growth initiatives. Strong understanding of housing markets, economic development principles and growth trend. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and securing funding. Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Prefer 3-5 years of experience in economic development, community development, business administration, or a related field. Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification or ability to obtain within a specific time frame.?

Under the direction of the Community Development Director, the Planning & Zoning Coordinator is responsible for the current and long-range planning, development, and implementation of land use, growth management and related policies, housing and dilapidated policy, administering and enforcement of zoning, subdivision, code enforcement, floodplain management, and other ordinances in the City. Administers and updates the Comprehensive Plan, Subdivision Regulations, and Zoning Ordinance and other ordinances as necessary.

Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Geography, Public Administration, or related field preferred. Three (3) years or more of municipal planning experience preferred. An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

License/Certificate
