The City of Ada is accepting applications for the position of 911 Communications Manager. To administer, supervise staff, maintain and keep up the proper operation of the Emergency 911 call system. Knowledge of trunked radio systems, microwave equipment, towers, consoles and related radio equipment including installation, programming, maintenance and repair of portable radios, mobile data terminals and pagers. Ability to manage personnel issues, schedule work hours, mentor/counsel employees and use established procedures for personnel issues. Coordinate and provide leadership in the development and presentation of training programs for assigned personnel. Prefer four-year degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Management, Public Safety, or related field. Three years technical experience with Public Safety Communications systems. Experience with a trunked communications system preferred but not required. Comparable experience with advanced military communications systems may be substituted for public safety experience. Two to three years supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to assure competent performance. Possession or ability to obtain (within one year) OLETS certification, certification as a basic telecommunicator and certification as an emergency medical dispatcher (EMD).
