Paul Reiser Headlines East Central University

The Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center at East Central University in Ada, OK is proud to present the legendary Paul Reiser Thursday, September 22nd. A seasoned comedian, actor, writer and producer, Paul Reiser continues to add to his list of accomplishments. He co-created and starred in the critically acclaimed NBC series “Mad About You” which garnered him multiple Emmy, Golden Globe, American Comedy Award and Screen Actors Guild nominations. The series is now available in its entirety on DVD. Reiser returned to television in the FX series “Married” and can now be seen on the Amazon series “Red Oaks.” The coming-of-age comedy is set in the "go-go" 80’s and follows a college student enjoying a last hurrah before summer comes to an end and the future begins. Paul plays the club president of Red Oaks, Getty. The second season will premiere on Amazon November 11th. Paul was recently reunited with Sigourney Weaver, Bill Paxton, Jenette Goldstein, Mark Rolston, Lance Henriksen, Michael Biehn, and Carrie Henn from the 1986 film “Aliens,” at the Texas International Comic Con. The reunion was the first of its kind for the cast of “Aliens” on American soil. 2016 continues to be a busy year for film making for Paul Reiser. Following his role in the Academy Award winning film "Whiplash," he has appeared in numerous feature films including “Concussion," with Will Smith, "The Darkness" alongside Kevin Bacon, "Devil in the Deep Blue Sea" with Jason Sudeikis and Maisie Williams, "Miles" with Molly Shannon and “Joshy” directed by Jeff Baena. In September, Paul will be seen in John McDonagh's "War on Everyone" with Alexander Skarsgard and Michael Pena. Later this year he will join John C. Reilly & Aubrey Plaza in “The Little Hours” followed by director Lake Bells new film “What’s the Point” with Ed Helms & Mary Stennburgen. Not one to abandon his roots in stand-up, in between projects Reiser tours the country performing to sold out venues across the country and was voted one of Comedy Central’s “Top 100 Comedians of All Time.” 2005 saw the release of "The Thing About My Folks," Paul's first original screenplay in which he starred alongside Oscar-winning actors Peter Fall and Olympia Dukakis. In 2003 Reiser made his stage debut in Woody Allen’s directorial play debut “Writer’s Block.” Reiser's successes also include his books “Couplehood,” which sold over two million copies and reached the number one spot on the New York Times bestseller list, as well as his follow up bestsellers “Babyhood” and “Familyhood.” Born and raised in New York City, Paul attended the State University of New York at Binghamton where he majored in Music.
