Christmas Journey, the story of a young girl, Virginia Ann (Ginny) Barnes whose mother is a soldier (a Chickasaw warrior) serving in Afghanistan. Since Ginny hasn’t heard from her in several months she believes that her mother has been killed, so in her grief she no longer believes in Christmas or anything related to it, including Santa Claus. She meets a homeless man, Luke, who, along with others, helps Ginny on her Christmas journey to again find the joy of Christmas. While Ginny deals with her grief, there are moments of fun throughout the play. The final scene includes a choir and an audience sing-a-long of traditional Christmas songs, carols and hymns.
