Irving Community Center to add outside walking trail (ADA,OKLAHOMA/March 24, 2022) ? The Irving Community Center will expand in the coming months by adding an outside walking trail, outside exercise equipment, and lighting. During the City Council Meeting on March 21, the Council unanimously approved a resolution and Sub-Recipient Plan for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to provide the outside walking trail. This past January, the City of Ada submitted a request to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for additional CDBG-COVID money to be able to add an outside walking trail and the funding was approved. Other additions will include security cameras and benches, and additional outside space for other outdoor activities. ?The area will also be fenced to provide a safe and secure place for our seniors,? stated Parks and Public Facilities Director, Tommy Eaton. ?We are pleased to provide an additional area that helps to promote a healthy lifestyle.?
