May 10, 2019 Chief of Police to retire after 38 years of service ADA – Mike Miller, Chief of Police for the Ada Police Department, announced he will retire on May 17, 2019. “Serving as Chief of Police has been a challenging, but fulfilling job, said Miller. “I have enjoyed my time here.” Chief Miller began serving as a patrolman in 1981, and in 1985, switched to the Detective Division as a Captain. Miller became Chief of Police in 1996. During his tenure with the Ada Police Department, Chief Miller attended the FBI Academy in 1992. The FBI National Academy is geared toward police executives. Chief Miller has seen many changes over the years including the training new cadets receive. “The opportunities are so much better now,” stated Chief Miller. “We appreciate his long-standing dedication to the city and the citizens of this community, stated City Manager Cody Holcomb. “We truly wish him the best.” In his future, Chief Miller looks forward to spending time with his family and five grandchildren. There will be a come and go retirement reception honoring Chief Miller on Wednesday, May 15, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Ada Police Station. All are welcome.
