April 12, 2016 City of Ada names new Parks and Public Facilities Director ADA – J. Scott Lowrance has been named the new Parks and Public Facilities Director for the City of Ada. He will oversee the departments of parks, recreation, cemetery, library, and general maintenance. “I’m excited to be part of such an exciting time at the City of Ada,” Lowrence said. “Since we arrived, the city has always been a great place to live for my family and me, and now I get to share the vision of continued growth and success.” A graduate of Southeastern University, Lowrance is transitioning from the principal of Byng High School into his new role with the city. He holds three bachelor’s degrees and two master’s degrees, one in Kinesiology and another in Education Administration. Lowrance has served as the Principal of Byng High School for the past seven years. Previously, he was head basketball coach at Ada High School and also at Choctaw. His wife, Kelly, is a counselor at Francis Elementary School and they have three children, Cade, Macy, and Redik. “I am fortunate to have this opportunity and look forward to working in the best way possible for all the citizens of Ada,” Lowrance said.
