August 16, 2019 City of Ada names new Chief of Police ADA – Carl Allen has been named the new Chief of Police for the City of Ada. Chief Allen will oversee 34 officers, six of which are detectives, and nine reserve officers. Chief Allen is transitioning from the former City of Ada Public Works Director into his new role. He is a graduate of East Central University, and holds a degree in Human Resources with a concentration in Criminal Justice. He retired from the Ada Police Department in 2011, after 26 years of service and began a new career in Public Works. He left there this past May to assume the role as Interim Chief of Police. His wife Renee is the Histology Supervisor at Mercy Hospital. They have a 10-year old daughter, Jacklyn (who was named after her grandfather, Jack Allen, who was an Ada Policeman in the 1960’s). “I am very honored to be named Chief of Police. We have a great department with remarkable men and women who protect and serve the citizens of Ada every day,” Chief Allen said.
